Every badge swipe, camera feed, wireless access point, and VoIP call in your facility runs on low voltage infrastructure. When that infrastructure is planned wrong, built cheap, or left undocumented — it becomes the most expensive thing in your building. SmartHands Technology installs cabling systems that pass inspection, perform at spec, and stay out of your way for the next 20 years.
Whether you’re a General Contractor managing 20 subcontractors on a commercial build, a Facility Manager responsible for keeping a hospital wing online around the clock, or a CEO protecting capital on a multi-site infrastructure rollout — SmartHands gives every decision-maker a written scope, certified test results, and a crew that communicates from day one.
General Contractors
We integrate seamlessly into your project schedule with bid-ready scopes, trade coordination, and code-compliant installs that don’t slow your CO. Every run is firestopped, every pathway is documented, and every punch-list item is resolved before we leave the job site.
Facility Managers
We plan all disruptive work for off-hours or weekends so your operations never skip a beat. Every install is delivered with as-built documentation, labeled ports, and a cable map your team can actually use — so the next service call takes minutes, not hours.
CEOs & Owners
You get fixed-price quotes, milestone-based reporting, and a contractor who protects your budget and your timeline without shortcuts. We treat your facility like it matters — because repeat business and referrals are how SmartHands grows.
IT Directors
Every copper drop is Fluke DSX-8000 tested and TIA-568-C certified. Every fiber strand is OTDR-verified with an end-face inspection report. You receive a full test package, port maps, and panel schedules — a cable plant your team can manage and expand for the next decade.
We don’t just run cable — we spec the right solution for your environment, bandwidth requirements, and future growth. Every install is engineered to ANSI/TIA-568-C standards and delivered with full test documentation so you always know exactly what’s in your building.

Low Voltage Integration Points
Every SmartHands project follows a proven 4-phase process — so you always know where you stand, what’s been done, and what’s coming next. No surprises. No callbacks. No excuses.
01
Site Survey & Scope
We walk every floor, measure every run, and identify pathway, conduit, and penetration requirements. You receive a written scope with itemized counts, material specs, and a firm project timeline before we touch a single cable — no surprises, no scope creep.
02
Coordination & Scheduling
We coordinate directly with your GC, electrical contractor, and facility team. Work is scheduled around your operations — including after-hours and phased installs for occupied facilities. Zero forced shutdowns, zero scheduling conflicts.
03
Installation & Termination
Our crews pull, route, terminate, and dress every run to TIA-568-C standards. Every drop is labeled, every panel is documented, every conduit is firestopped. Clean, organized installs the next technician can actually follow.
04
Testing, Certification & Documentation
Every copper run is Fluke DSX-tested. Every fiber strand is OTDR-verified with end-face inspection. You receive a complete test report, as-built drawings, and a port map — ready for your IT team, your records, and any future contractor.
When we say low voltage and data infrastructure, we mean the entire physical layer — not just the cable. Our crews handle conduit stub-ups, cable tray installation, j-hook runs, firestopping, and every termination point from the MDF to the last drop. We coordinate with GCs and electrical contractors on active job sites and work in occupied facilities without disrupting your operation.
Every project ends with a clean, labeled, documented install — built to pass inspection and built to last. No loose ends. No mystery cables. No callbacks — guaranteed.

There are a lot of low voltage contractors in Houston. Most of them will pull your cable and hand you a bill. SmartHands Technology does it differently — we show up prepared, communicate throughout the job, and deliver infrastructure that makes sense when you open the IDF door six months from now.
We build cabling systems with the understanding that your facility will change. New floors, new equipment, new wireless APs — the infrastructure we install today won’t fight you when those changes come. Every run is route-planned for expansion. Every IDF is rack-dressed for new hardware. Every fiber link is documented and tested for future splicing.
When the IT team comes back in two years and asks who did this work — they’ll know it was done right.
“Low voltage work gets overlooked until something breaks. My job is to make sure it never breaks — and when your team needs to add a camera, a reader, or a whole new floor, the infrastructure we left behind makes that expansion straightforward instead of a headache. We don’t just build for today. We build for what’s next.”

Cat6 supports 1Gbps at up to 100 meters. Cat6A (Augmented Category 6) supports 10Gbps at up to 100 meters and has better alien crosstalk rejection — making it the right choice for high-density environments, data centers, or any installation where you want to future-proof. We typically recommend Cat6A for all new builds and major renovations.
Low voltage cabling in Texas generally does not require an electrical permit, but conduit and pathway work in commercial facilities often requires coordination with the GC and may require inspection sign-off. We handle all permit coordination and work directly with your AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) when required.
Every copper run we install is tested using a Fluke DSX Cable Analyzer to verify it meets TIA-568-C performance standards — checking insertion loss, return loss, NEXT, PSNEXT, and delay skew. Fiber runs are verified with an OTDR and end-face inspection scope. You receive a printed or digital test report for every single run, not just a pass/fail summary.
A 50-drop office build typically takes 2–4 days for a 2-person crew. Larger projects — multi-floor builds, data centers, or campus fiber — are scoped individually. We provide a timeline in the written scope of work before any project starts, so you can coordinate with your GC and IT team accordingly.
Multimode fiber (OM3/OM4) is used for short distances — typically within a building or campus — and works with lower-cost transceivers. Single-mode fiber (OS2) supports much longer distances and higher bandwidth, and is the standard for inter-building runs, telecom rooms connected across a large campus, or any environment where you need maximum headroom for future bandwidth upgrades.
Yes — this is something we do regularly. We schedule disruptive work (above-ceiling, core drills, IDF access) after hours or on weekends when needed, and coordinate closely with facility managers to minimize any impact on your staff and operations. Healthcare and 24/7 facilities are a specialty of ours.
Yes — every project is delivered with a port map, panel label schedule, and documentation of all pathways and penetrations. For larger projects we provide updated floor plan drawings showing cable routes and IDF locations. Your IT team and future contractors will always know exactly what’s in the building.
Absolutely. We have deployment capability across all 50 states and regularly execute standardized multi-site rollouts for retail, healthcare, and enterprise clients. Every site is installed to the same spec, with the same documentation package, so your IT team gets a consistent cable plant no matter which location they walk into.
